On being "young"..

Evidently, people don't take you seriously if you're young. I should know, I go through it. Anything I say, is either shrugged off as a) stupid or b) cute. That's highly annoying. Especially since I'm left feeling like a 13-year-old child dying to get old.

So, here is a quote from Charlotte Bronte's novel Jane Eyre, which will hopefully keep many traps shut (that is, if they understand it).

Jane Eyre (to Mr. Rochester): I don't think, sir, you have a right to command me, merely because you are older than I, or because you have seen more of the world than I have; your claim to superiority depends on the use you have made of your time and experience.
